The General Manager will primarily oversee the retail sales and operations of The Ultimate Deck Shop. You are the sales leader and will spend the majority of your time assisting customers with their projects. This is a high value, high customer service, low pressure sales environment.

You will have direct reporting employees both on the sales and operations side of the business. You will be responsible for mentoring, problem solving, providing leadership, and inspiring the team. As the GM, you will be required to have an interest in all aspects of the business and always be striving towards an unbeatable level of service, efficiency, and productivity. You are very hands on and willing to help out where needed for the success of the team.

**GM Duties and Responsibilities**
- Communication skills are key to increasing management's effectiveness with both superiors and subordinates
- Leadership skills are imperative
- Delegation skills are crucial in identifying the best person (or people) for a particular task and act as a facilitator to motivate and direct the work
- Time management skills are important in prioritizing tasks to ensure that projects are completed by deadlines and streamlining processes to maximize productivity
- Negotiation and dedication skills are necessary for finding opportunities to resolve conflicts efficiently and favorably
- Decision-making skills are key to weighing the costs and benefits of various options and determining the best course of action to achieve company goals
- Problem-solving skills are crucial to analyzing past and current performance and recommending objectives to improve productivity and profitability

**Experience and Requirements**
- Previous experience in the Lumber & Building Materials retail industry is a plus
- Previous experience in deck building or construction is a plus
- Previous experience as a high level manager in retail is required
- Valid driver's license is required
- Criminal record check may be performed

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
