Residence Coordinator

We are seeking a **Residence Coordinator** to work at our new residence in **North Delta**. This **full-time** role works 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday 10:00am - 5:00pm) at a salary range between $28.39 - $33.06 per hour plus benefits, including Extended Health and Dental and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan. This position requires union membership. Flexibility including evenings and weekends as required.

**About the Opportunity**
As a Residence Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a residence, provide ongoing supervision of staff and participate in the evaluation of program policies. The Residence Coordinator will ensure the home is operated in a way that is consistent with the Society and Community Living BC policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Schedules, supervises and evaluates residence staff and monitors daily operations.
- Assists in recruiting and selecting of staff and provides guidance, training and orientation on policies, procedures, techniques, report preparation or other matters arising in the residence. Identifies the needs of staff for professional development.
- Ensures that individuals served actively participate in the development of their own outcomes; and ensure the emotional and physical well being of the individuals.
- Provides leadership, guidance and participates with staff, families and others in planning and providing client plans, case conferencing, case management and the preparation of related documents and reports.
- Completes personal service plan for residents.
- Has strong leadership and supervisory skills including the demonstrated ability to develop performance of team members through goal setting and feedback as well as the ability to mediate and problem solve.
- Practices good organizational, coordination, administration, time management and budgeting skills.
- Demonstrates proficiency using computer software including MS Office, Quicken, scheduling and PLP.
- Remains empathetic and supportive of the individuals we support and co-workers.
- Communicates effectively in both written and verbal formats.
- Demonstrates the ability to inspire and influence others in achieving successful outcomes and results for the people served.
- Is knowledgeable of theory, principles and practices of the community living field, including the Behavioural Guidelines and Incident Reporting Procedures.
- Experience and training in needs assessment, program design, implementation and evaluation.
- Demonstrates the ability to work with personal networks and families of persons served.
- Flexibility, creativity and responsive to changes needs and program demands are essential.

**Qualifications**
- 3-5 years direct program delivery experience in community social services sector with a demonstrated working knowledge of community-based services to adults with intellectual disabilities and related provincial and community supports.
- Degree or Diploma in a related Human/Social Services field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Emergency First Aid & CPR
- FOODSAFE Level 1
- MANDT Training
- Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License
- Post-secondary education in related field preferred
- Practical experience working with developmental and physical disabilities
