**POSTION: Unit Clerk**
**DEPARTMENT: Intensive Care Unit**
**STATUS: Regular Part Time**
**SALARY**:$23.00 - $25.00**

The Unit Clerk provides receptionist, clerical and patient centered duties, demonstrating the values, strategic directions and core success factors which support our commitment to the patient, their family and community partners to provide quality health care. The Unit Clerk demonstrates excellent communication skills and maintains confidentiality of patient and staff information.
**HOURS**:
**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:
- Medical Office Administration/Health Care Office Administration diploma/certificate required;
- At least one (1) year experience within the last three (3) years of unit clerk experience preferred;
- Knowledge of medical terminology;
- Knowledge of alpha and terminal digit filing systems;
- General clerical experience including reception, filing, and basic computer literacy;
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent telephone etiquette;
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with mínimal supervision utilizing effective organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to write legibly;
- Ability to adapt and work within a constantly changing environment;
- Demonstrated computer knowledge and skills (Electronic Patient Record, Cerner, Powerchart, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet/Intranet Usage);
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis as per the STEGH Attendance at Work Policy
- Demonstrated previous performance reflective of the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct of STEGH.
