Job: Construction Foreman

Location: Port Perry and Surrounding Areas.

Type/Permanency: Full Time, Permanent

Work Hours: M-F 7:00am-4:30pm. Additional hours may be required to meet business needs.

**Duties include**:

- Review Construction plans and designs to ensure accuracy and completeness of Construction Drawings, and Bill of Materials.
- Manage, coordinate and schedule contracted resources as required to meet project schedules.
- Manage all aspects of Fiber and Coaxial civil construction activities.
- Manage field material and locates as required for construction activities.
- Meet on-site with City representatives, landlords, or property managers to discuss any issues or escalations that arise with construction related activities.
- Ensure all required construction standards are met and Construction and Safety Standards & Policies are strictly adhered to while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Inspect and sign off on aerial and buried installations to meet applicable construction and City standards.
- Ensure project schedules are maintained and strictly adhered to.
- Report on and communicate construction progress to project team and manager.
- Manage contracted labor quotes, invoicing, asbuilts, performance and quality.
- Drive excellence throughout the organization and contractors in relation to outside plant civil construction.
- Recognize and identify potential, customer impacting problems and offer viable solutions.
- Learn and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation.
- Demonstrate a professional working relationship with employees, contractors and clients.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be familiar with current Telecommunications Fiber Optic and Coaxial construction standards.
- Must be familiar with CSA, utility specifications and ESA 22-04 standards.
- Ability to interpret technical material and plans.
- Strong command of the English language, both spoken and written
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to clearly communicate with internal and external project teams
- Detail-oriented with solid problem solving and analytical skills
- Multi-tasking ability; adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines
- Self motivated with the ability to take initiative and resolve problems independently; monitors own quality of work
- Must have valid G license and own vehicle, as some site work is required

**Preferred Skills and Knowledge**:

- Have a good general knowledge of underground utilities.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel, Word and Outlook
- General understanding of broadband, telecom, cable, RF and Optical design is an asset

**Salary**: $36.00-$40.00 per hour
