**The Opportunity**:
The Chief Privacy Officer for WSP Global Inc. will provide support with the management of the Global Privacy Office and program. They will ensure the effective implementation of program initiatives and controls related to compliance with local and international data protection and privacy laws as well as with WSP privacy policies. They will also act as the Chief Privacy Officer for WSP Canada. They will report directly to the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and General Counsel, Global Legal Operations.

**A day in the life**:

- Maintain and develop a global network of regional privacy representatives and liaise with each regional privacy representative to coordinate, where necessary, the implementation of key components of the privacy program, such as training and communications.
- Identify, implement, monitor, assess, and improve the effectiveness of the global privacy program policies, procedures, controls, and other associated deliverables.
- Develop, implement and roll out global annual privacy training and communications initiatives.
- Ensure the implementation and maintenance of systems, controls, processes and procedures related to the privacy function. This includes the organization’s intra-company agreement, data mapping registries, data processing registries, retention protocols, etc.
- Liaise and collaborate with our Chief Information Security Officer, the Chief Information Officer, and legal teams to assess privacy-related issues and risks in the context of cyber incidents and data breaches and participate in notification and reportability assessments.
- Conduct due diligence to evaluate the privacy programs and risks of target companies in the context of mergers and acquisitions, and manage integration efforts.
- Lead the privacy reviews of global contracts and negotiate provisions related to data protection addendums, including overseeing external counsel engaged in such reviews or negotiation.
- Provide guidance on privacy compliance, conduct privacy impact assessments, and ensures recommendations are implemented effectively and consistently.
- Identify contentious issues and risks, monitor changes to best practices and legal requirements, and brief senior management.
- In addition to the global role, they will also act as the Chief Privacy Officer for WSP Canada and oversee Canadian efforts to develop, implement and improve the privacy program for WSP Canada.
