- A degree in a quantitative discipline (math/computer science).
- 3-5 years of experience building and using data science tools in an industrial setting.
- 3-5 years of software development experience developing industrial data product.
- Intermediate understanding of databases such as SQL Server, Oracle and SAP.
- Experience reporting & data visualisation tools such as Business Objects, PowerBI and Tableau.
- Experience with Website scripts such as XML, Javascript, JSON, ETL framework and ETL tools including Alteryx and Microsoft SSIS.
- Digital marketing analytics tools including Google 360, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Adobe Marketing Suite.
- Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent presentation, communication and listening skills, enabling effective communication of complex ideas in a user-friendly format.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, organizational and Project Management skills.
- Skilled at conflict resolution, effectively resolving client issues and team member issues.
- Preferred location would be Edmonton or Calgary, AB.

**About the Role**

The OT Data Scientist gathers and analyzes large sets of structured and unstructured industrial data. They process and model the data, interpreting the results to create actionable plans for Dexcent and its clients.
- Define parameters for identifying industrial data sources, data collection and analysis.
- Identify relevant industrial data sources for analysis.
- Collect structured and unstructured industrial data, sourcing missing data as required.
- Build, automate and refine industrial data collection, analysis and ETL workflows.
- Organize industrial data into useable formats.
- Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms to analyze industrial data.
- Complete industrial data analytics, interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations and actionable plans from data sets.
- Analyze industrial data to answer specific questions.
- Present findings to the Executive and project teams in a concise, visual and user-friendly format.
- Work with remote teams for development and implementation as needed for a variety of digital solutions for analytical dashboards and interfaces. Focus on implementing best practices and developing for reusability.
- Communicate and coordinate with other team members to complete project tasks to meet specific deadlines.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices and share insights to improve team skills and client deliverables.
- Work in an Agile team environment (Scrum), supporting colleagues to deliver solutions.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Dexcent and Client teams’ success.
- Display a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement; suggesting product improvements, sales growth opportunities, cost savings options and work environment improvements.
