***Opportunity***:
Saje is seeking a proven local community lead to support the execution of the community engagement, activation, and event strategy for our retail spaces. You are the ultimate brand ambassador, focused on creating an authentic connection between Saje and the community at large, spreading wellness en masse. You will seamlessly weave Saje’s physical space with the social fabric of the local community, nurturing strong bonds and lasting relationships centered on a shared love of wellness and the power of plants.
You understand the importance of engaging with and building the Saje community through our retail locations and will partner with cross-functional teams to concept and execute local events and activations designed to achieve business objectives across our fleet.
To be successful in this role, you must have a community member-first approach and thrive in ambiguous and unexpected environments, tackling all challenges with a flexible and solution-oriented mindset. You are results driven and demonstrate an understanding of how each interaction supports the broader community member experience.
Through day to day functions, the Retail Events & Community Activations Lead contributes to maintaining and strengthening Saje’s culture and proactively engaging in behaviours that align with Saje’s values.
**Responsibilities***:
- Implement Saje’s Community Events & Activations strategy, focused on building deep, authentic relationships and driving incremental store revenue.
- Collaborate closely with the District Managers, Store Managers, Retail teams, and Marketing to concept, plan and execute activations, events, and strategies that engage the community, amplify brand awareness, generate demand, and achieve business objectives in your market.
- Leading and/or supporting in-market Events and Activations to ensure the experience is best-in-class: authentic, engaging, educational and aligned with Saje core values and culture
- Keep a pulse on the Saje community, regularly surfacing Community Member and Retail feedback
- Support new market launch and business development activities in advance of locations opening
- Identify, drive, and track relevant metrics of success, reporting on the impact of event & outreach tactics and results of local community activations
- Possess a high level of brand and product expertise, staying up to date on all required training and product education
- Support various activations, new location openings, remodels, pop-ups, and special events within your market and beyond as needed
- Take on additional projects, duties and assignments as required and/or by request from the retail leadership
- Creates a team environment where all Team Members consistently experience a sense of belonging and inclusion
**Qualifications**:
- 2 or more years of proven retail event experience with success in building, executing and promoting events or activations for a retail brand, preferably in the wellness industry
- Proven experience in building strong community connections and partnerships through networking or cold outreach
- A passionate for the retail experience, motivated to collaborate with and motivate retail field teams and leadership
- Superior interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work exceptionally well as part of a team
- Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, working with and building on others’ ideas as well as coming up with ideas themselves
- Proven leadership skills; can spearhead new initiatives and motivate others to deliver results
- Experience using analytics and data to track project performance and develop actionable recommendations
- Effective communication skills; written and verbal
- Ability to problem-solve, think critically and present effective solutions and out-of-the-box ideas
