**The Opportunity - Communications and Fundraising Specialist**
Reporting to the Director of Communications, Marketing and Fundraising, the Communications and Fundraising Specialist will act as a Carefor journalist and content creator developing written, video and graphic-based content as part of a communications and fundraising plan that will increase Carefor’s brand visibility and revenue in conjunction with Carefor’s social media strategies, web presence, fundraising campaigns and events, direct mail campaigns and other forms of internal and external communications, fundraising and marketing.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Identifies, captures and shares stories of clients, care-partners, staff and volunteers to use in communications, marketing and fundraising in Ottawa, Renfrew County and Eastern Counties
- Supports communications and marketing staff across Carefor through the development of content including written, video, and graphic to support with recruitment, fundraising, marketing and brand awareness in the achievement of Carefor’s goals
- Writes blogs and web content to improve Search Engine Optimization
- Develops content for bi-annual donor newsletter and monthly e-newsletters
- Identifies and develops strategies for enhancing communications and marketing for the purposes of brand recognition, revenue generation and fund development.
- Other related tasks as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary degree in communications or a related field (e.g., marketing, journalism, fundraising)
- Minimum of three-years’ experience leading communications activities as well as developing and implementing social media campaigns
- Experience developing content using various platforms and tools including video, web and photography
- Experience writing for various platforms, including web
- Expertise with graphic design software including Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva
- Familiarity with video production and video editing software
- Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
- Strong project management, planning and evaluation skills
- Creative thinker willing to explore and try new communications options and styles
- Equally capable of working independently and part of a team
- Must have access to reliable vehicle

**Salary**: $25.38-$28.09 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
