The company has an opening for an Electro-Mechanical Assembler.
**Requirements for the Position**:
**Education**:
- High School diploma
- Electronics Assembly Training at an approved institution such as Douglas College is an asset
**Experience**:
- 3 or more years of experience with electronic assembly to IPC standards
**Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities**:
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English
- Knowledge of electronic components, printed circuit boards, subassemblies, and assemblies
- Ability to solder and manually assemble various electronic components on printed circuit boards
- Install, mount, fasten, align, and adjust parts, components, and wiring harnesses to subassemblies and assemblies
- Inspect electronic components and assemblies to ensure adherence to specified requirements
- Check mechanical dimensions, identify, and mark acceptable and defective assemblies
- Ability to perform simple electrical and continuity testing of electronic components and assemblies
- Ability to operate a drill press and other power tools; experience in light metalwork is an asset
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to handle light lifting, work standing or sitting, have good hand/eye coordination, and good eyesight with proven color discrimination
**Working Conditions**:
- Mostly indoor work in a temperature-controlled environment
**Duties**:
- Effectively, accurately, and safely perform assembly, fabrication, and inspection duties
- Assemble products, verifying the quality and accuracy of component installation
- Maintain appropriate record-keeping, including job-time allocation
- Solder and manually assemble various electronic components on printed circuit boards
- Install, mount, fasten, align, and adjust parts, components, wiring, and harnesses to subassemblies and assemblies
- Maintain a clean work area and alert the supervisor of any safety concerns
- Operate a drill press and other power tools
- Perform general shop clean-up as required
- Any other duties assigned
**Schedule**:
- 8-hour shift, typically 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with two paid 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
