Job Summary
Main Responsibilities
Design and implement software tools and/or software infrastructure for the integration, validation and monitoring of train control systems
Reviewing integration plans, integration reports and test procedures
Providing all technical documentation for configuring and supporting the Train Control system, troubleshooting procedures and processes and end-user how-to guides
Analyze system issues and/or business requirements to design effective, high-availability, business-critical solutions
Manage cross-project dependencies and overlap between stakeholder groups to reduce risks for successful go-lives.
Enhance or improve as necessary the operational aspects of the messaging infrastructure (performance, monitoring, scalability, etc.)
Prepare and deliver knowledge transfer sessions within the team
Support business analysts, functional designers, and architects in the requirements gathering phase
Participating in meeting with stakeholders for defining requirements, troubleshooting issues, and other meetings as needed for supporting the Train Control system.
Make recommendations for process improvements.

**Requirements**:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Experience
Minimum 7 years overall work experience with 3 years as a software developer
Ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical design specifications
Experience with Network Provisioning, Network Management, Policy Compliancy, Quality Check, Reporting, Testing and Troubleshooting, etc
Proficient professional verbal and written communication skills
Able to communicate, document and comprehend comfortably at different levels of detail over functional and technical components (hardware, software, functional and non-functional).

Assets
PTC and Rail industry experience
Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and database technologies (Oracle)
Knowledge of Container technologies, virtualization, micro services, and cloud systems
Knowledge of at least one of the following languages: Python, c# and javascript.
Knowledge of web services; Rest, WebSocket.
Knowledge of Kafka and MQ
Knowledge of Microservices, APIs and backend testing
knowledge of cloud computing/DevOps (Azure, Google).
knowledge of testing throughout software life cycle, CI/CD pipeline.
Experience with functional and non-functional testing (performance and load testing)
Experience with automation tools such as selenium, Jmeter, Loadrunner/UFTetc

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: $60.00-$65.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
