The Family Services Program believes that children thrive in a nurturing family and supportive community. Our goal is to empower parents and guardians to navigate services available in their community while building their capacity to use supportive strategies.
**We are seeking a talented and passionate Behavioural Consultant who is responsible for supporting families receiving service through the Family Behavioural Consultation Program (FBC). The Behavioural Consultant supports families in understanding their child’s developmental needs and provide educational training and resources.**
This positions is Full Time, Monday - Friday, 7.25 hours/day. Typically 8:30-4:30pm. Flexibility to adjust hours and work evenings is required.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide direct consultation; and develop implement and evaluate behaviour and positive support plans.
- Conduct family visits in home and community.
- Administer screenings, assessments and/or functional assessments as needed.
- Communicate and liaise with Family Supports for Children with Disabilities to collaborate on services provided.
- Proficient in the creation, modelling and use of visual support aides.
- Effectively communicate with FBC partnership agencies and other related professionals.
- Complete all required documentation and ensure all information is kept current and confidential.
- Participates as a contributing team member.
- Provides exceptional service in a timely and professional manner.
- Assists in monitoring program effectiveness and parent satisfaction.
- Prepare and submit monthly statistical information.
- Assumes other appropriately assigned responsibilities.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Recognized University Degree or College Diploma in Human Services or a related field of study.
- Trained or experience working in the administration of Tripe P (Positive Parenting Program.
- Strong knowledge of a wide variety of behavioural tools and techniques to increase parent capacity. This includes Triple-P and positive behaviour strategies.
- Experience using and developing resources using Boardmaker.
- Several years of experience working directly with children and families, supporting children and youth with disabilities/developmental delays.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and participate as a contributing team member.
- Creative problem solving skills.
- Motivated, Reliable.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check.
- Valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Applications.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $27.44-$36.11 per hour
