**Overview**

**Duties**
- Provide personal care services including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance.
- Assist with catheter care and bowel incontinence.
- Assist with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor the client for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Offer companionship and engage client in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
- Assist with mobility (driving a power wheelchair) and transfers using a mechanical lift
- Maintain a clean and organized living space for client, ensuring hygiene standards are upheld.
- Support client with dementia care or other cognitive impairments through patience and understanding.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Document daily activities and any changes in the client's condition accurately.
- Accompany client to all medical and social appointments using para-transit or client's wheelchair-accessible van.

**Qualifications**
- Minimal educational requirement is the completion of Grade 12 and a College Certificate/Diploma in a Caregiving Course (e.g. Healthcare Aide, Personal Support Worker) or a Nursing Degree.
- Minimum of 2 months experience in caregiving for elderly individuals who are disabled.
- Knowledge of senior care best practices, including medication administration and meal preparation.
- Compassionate demeanor with strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with client.
- Understanding of working with persons with disabilities.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is mandatory.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.5 per week
