**Position Overview**
The University of Lethbridge Major Capital Projects department is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning and construction of a major renovation project at the University of Lethbridge main campus. This position is a full-time, 3 year term, in person on our Lethbridge campus. The incumbent will be part of an exciting initiative that will contribute to the modernization of our educational infrastructure and shape the future learning environment for our students and faculty.
Reporting to the Director, Major Capital Projects, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the renovation project to develop the Southern Alberta Medical Program facility, from initiation through to completion. You will work closely with university stakeholders, health care professionals, architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in construction management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to navigate the unique challenges of working within an academic environment. The Project Manager will support the Project Director in committee & stakeholder engagement and reporting throughout the project.
**Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including academic partners, internal university departments, medical faculty, and administrators to gather requirements and ensure the renovated facility meets educational and clinical needs.
- Lead regular project meetings and provide status updates to key stakeholders.
- Manage risk by identifying potential issues early and developing mitigation strategies.
- Manage the transition and move-in process upon project completion.
- Manage the project budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee the bidding process and selection of consultants, contractors and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, facility accreditation, and university policies. Oversee quality control processes to ensure all work meets or exceeds specified standards.

The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification and compensation review for Administrative Professional Officer (APO) positions. As such, the salary range currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project.**Position Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED, ASET, CCA Gold Seal would be considered assets.
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing planning & construction projects, preferably in academic or healthcare settings.
- Applicants with a combination of post secondary training in engineering or architectural technology, construction management and a strong track record of managing successful projects will also be considered.- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building systems, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- In depth knowledge of sustainability practices, construction methods, materials, and techniques used in the industry.
- Solid understanding of infrastructure systems (i.e. mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, HVAC).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.**Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)**
- $73,110.48 - $91,972.76 annually
