Heffner Construction Group Inc., a leader in high-end residential and commercial design/build as well as renovations projects, is expanding and seeking a skilled _**Demolition Laborer**_to join our growing team.
This position will begin on a casual, as-needed basis with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and project demand.
**About the Role**
As a Demolition Laborer, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient dismantling of interior and structural components in preparation for new construction and renovations. This is a physically demanding position that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to site safety and cleanliness.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Structural Dismantling**: Use of hand and power tools to deconstruct buildings and interior finishes according to project plans.
**Site Preparation & Cleanup**: Removal of debris and hazardous materials; ensure job sites are clean, organized, and ready for subsequent work phases.
**Material Salvage**: Sort, clean, and organize reusable materials for repurposing or proper disposal.
**Equipment Operation**: Operate machinery such as skid steers, excavators, and other heavy equipment under direction.
**Safety Compliance**: Strict adherence to company and industry safety procedures; proper use of PPE at all times.
**Supportive Labour Tasks**: Assist with associated work such as flooring removal, drywall takedown, and basic installations when required.
**Team Collaboration**: Work closely with site supervisors and team members to meet deadlines and maintain high standards of craftsmanship.
**Physical Requirements**:Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects (50+ lbs.) consistently throughout the workday. Capable of standing, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods. Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including dust, noise, and changing weather.
**Required Qualifications**
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
- Proven experience in demolition or related construction work.
- Familiarity with demolition tools, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal direction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
**Compensation**:Total compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Full details will be discussed during the interview process.
