**Job summary**:
Assists the Press Operator and other Printing department staff in the performance of printing duties in order to ensure that all Alpha Poly printed products meet customer, organizational and legislative specifications and are delivered in a timely manner.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**:
Assists in the printing process of all poly products by performing any combination of the following duties:

- Receives specifications of job orders from Press Operator including, but not limited to, production time, colour sequence and quantities required, in order to ensure jobs are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assists with the loading of sleeves onto mandrels and into the press.
- Checks ink requirements for each printing job, carries pails of ink to press, sets up pumps and pumps up inks; returns ink pails to ink room after each job is finished; maintains ink room in an organized manner in order to ensure easy access to product and a safe working environment.
- Takes measurements with zahn cup to control color and viscosities in order to ensure print jobs run effectively.
- Changes and cleans anilox rollers in between jobs to ensure no cross contamination of products and that each job is run cleanly.
- Follows print production schedule and ensures appropriate rolls are ready for loading prior to each job; unloads and reloads rolls as required at the beginning and end of each job;
- Operates Reach Truck and Lifting equipment in a safe manner in order to ensure finished product is placed in stock using the appropriate stock rotation process.
- Performs regular maintenance on print equipment in accordance with prescribed guidelines including, but not limited to, washing the Press and cleaning and removing plates/sticky back from sleeves; performs minor repairs within own scope of expertise and advises supervisor, and or press operator of any repairs required that are outside own area of expertise in a timely manner.
- Adheres to all Quality and Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times, immediately reporting any issues to the Production Supervisor;
- Maintains the Press area in a clean and orderly manner by sweeping/washing the floor around the equipment and emptying garbage on a daily basis; performs all other housekeeping duties as required to maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to Housekeeping checklist;
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Minimum High School graduation.
- Minimum 1 (one) years related experience in a related role preferred, but not essential
- Excellent ability to multi-task with good organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment which includes shift changes and product variation
- Good knowledge of how printing processes effect the quality of product
- Basic mechanical aptitude in order to perform simple repairs and maintenance
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Ability to work under moderate pressure in order to meet tight deadlines imposed by circumstances beyond own control
- Team player able to relate with all levels of staff
