We have a long-standing relationship with Lafarge Holcim being one of the first customers to the Richmond BC cement plant. Our current operations consist of 4 concrete depots and 3 sand and gravel pits. Our growing fleet of over 40 10-metre concrete delivery trucks gives us the largest capacity in our service area. With almost 100 staff involved in the operations today, we anticipate continued growth in the years ahead.

**The opportunity**
Butler Concrete & Aggregate is looking to expand its sales team and are actively seeking an Inside Salesperson. This role will collaborate and assist the Sales Department on a daily basis with acting as the first point of contact for customers, building strong relationships, and providing exceptional customer service in every interaction.
Your responsibilities will include managing inquiries, preparing quotes and invoices, coordinating orders, and ensuring timely delivery. This role will also assist in addressing and resolving customer service issues, managing Butler’s customer database for quotes, overseeing mix-design submissions and approvals, and providing vacation coverage for Dispatch and Order Desk.
**The details**
- Prepare and distribute quotes, invoices, mix design submissions to appropriate parties
- Computer skills and knowledge of Excel and Word, be able to create spreadsheets and Word documents
- Administer work from development, bidding, awarding and execution
- Build and nurture new client relationships by searching yellow sheets, CoolNet, CRM and other resources for new leads and prospects to share with the Sales team
- Provide high-level support to the Sales Manager and other Sales Representatives
- Assist Dispatch with inquiries on Butler products, services and up-to-date pricing
- Provide outstanding customer service to all customers and recognize opportunities for additional products and services
- Act as vacation or illness coverage for Outside Sales, Dispatch and Order Desk
- Maintain and foster excellent relationships with fellow employees, vendors and other external stakeholders, including the general public
- Maintain, assess and revise existing work processes and recommend new processes as required, including filing systems
- Manage daily tracking of quotes, follow-ups and bid market under direction of Sales Manager
- Complete, distribute and maintain all Project Sheets
- Daily use of Command-Alkon software to revise orders, review orders, change management
- Draft and produce reports and other information for Sales Manager as required
- Assist in development of outstanding training program for the department
- Additional tasks or duties as assigned and/or required, including Outside Sales tasks like measurements for residential pours,maintaining contact with customers and contractors, and quoting along with estimating.
- Educate our COD customers with the best methods for placing concrete and curing concrete.
- Special instructions from customers are being followed through and site visits to ensure the right truck is able to provide the service that is being requested.
**What you bring**
- 3-5 years’ experience in sales with proven track record of success
- Previous experience working in sales for a construction or concrete industry would be an asset
- Must have technical knowledge of ready-mix concrete and aggregate
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Prior management experience working a unionized workforces is required
- Outstanding leadership skills and proven ability to promote safe, cohesive, high-performing teams
- Proven ability to work with shifting priorities, manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, and manage time effectively
- Ability to skillfully manoeuvre tough situations without damaging relationships
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment
- Professional demeanour and comportment
