We are seeking an experienced Controller to manage all day-to-day aspects of the accounting and financial functions for our group of companies and play a strategic role in the management of the business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee all aspects of day-to-day accounting including A/R, AP, payroll, inventory, cash flow management, budgeting, general ledger maintenance and control of assets
- Month-end reconciliation and close procedures to prepare accurate monthly financial reporting on a timely basis
- Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Manage company overhead expenses and reporting
- Lead, motivate and mentor accounting team for a portfolio of companies
- Recruit, select and develop an exceptional accounting team
- Ensure that receivables are monitored and collected on a timely basis
- Monitor monthly sales targets and bonuses
- Supervise physical year-end inventory count and participate in inventory reconciliations
- Work with senior management to ensure that financial directives are followed
- Assist in software setup and updates
- Comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting and tax filing requirements
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with leadership team and staff across different departments
- Prepare and review year-end working papers for external accountants and tax advisors
- Develop and improve systems within the accounting department
- Analyze capital investment decisions for proposed expenditures
- Support the interactions of key relationships, including advisors, clients, vendors and bankers

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred
- 5 years experience in accounting with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize important tasks
- Deadline-oriented with a strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of payroll processes
- Proficiency in Office 365 with a strong knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication

Pay: $80,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
