**Class delivery: Wednesdays, 10:30 - 1:30 February 12 - May 21**

Reporting to the Manager, School College Partnerships, the incumbent develops and delivers courses in the Dual Credit program. Introduction to Business Agriculture AGRI1000 is scheduled to be delivered on the Owen Sound campus. This high school dual credit course introduces students to the important role of agriculture in society and its impact on the environment. Students will learn about sustainable farming practices, land management, and how agriculture connects with the economy and society, using real-world examples and exploring key regulations. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Developing and delivering appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives in the following areas:
o describe basic agricultural systems;

o describe the basic principles of agribusiness management, including production, marketing, and financial management;

o analyze the economic and market factors that affect the agribusiness industry;

o describe the global context of the agribusiness industry and the impact of international trade on agricultural markets;

o analyze the social and environmental impacts of agribusiness operations, and the role of sustainable

o evaluate information to solve emerging problems and challenges in food production systems on a local, national, and global scale;

o identify indigenous perspectives on agricultural practice and food production, including indigenous knowledge, land tenure and treaties;

o evaluate alternative food production and farming methods and their impact on the supply and cost of food, as well as the environment.
- Incorporating a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
- Evaluating student progress / achievement
- Participating in program and college activities as required
- Participating in program revision and renewal activities as required
- Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment

**Qualifications**:

- Successfully completed a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Animal/Livestock Science, Agricultural Science, Horticulture, or related field of study
- Minimum five years related industry experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to life-long learning
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
- Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
- Previous experience with high school aged youth will be considered an asset
- Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity will be considered an asset
