Meter Prover Technician

Calgary, Canada STRATA CONTROLS Full time

As a Prover Technician you will be required to operate a Meter Prover as outlined in our Standard Proving Procedure.

The following are **REQUIRED**:

- 1st or 2nd YEAR INSTRUMENTATION APPRENTICESHIP
- MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL OUT OF TOWN MONDAY-FRIDAY.
- MUST BE MECHANICALLY INCLINED.
- PHYSICALLY FIT (50+ LIFTING CAPABILITIES)
- KNOWLEDGE OF OPERATING FLUID SYSTEMS
- DRIVING 1 TON OR LARGER TRUCKS (DEFENSIVE DRIVING SKILLS AN ASSET)

Other Responsibilities include:

- Safety and environmental compliance following Strata Controls HSE policies and practices.
- Work with Maintenance technicians (staff and contract).
- Support the measurement and improvement of client targets.
- Maintain meter proving equipment to ensure compliance to government requirements.
- Maintenance and repair of flow meters to industry and government standards.
- Knowledgeable in EUB 17 reporting and the various types of meters.
- PM and maintenance work on meter proving equipment and associated tools.
- Develop and mentor employees, trainees and trades people (succession planning).
- Participate in the development of systems and programs for long term maintenance.
- Report directly to the Measurement Service Manager.
- Accountable for accuracy in preparing proving reports to clients.
- Proficient in analyzing and repairing trouble shooting issues
- Ability to interface with various technical levels.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Ideally Post-secondary education, Apprenticeship in instrumentation or field operation experience
- Ability to problem solve and multi-task, as appropriate.
- Previous experience in Oilfield Field Operations preferred.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Must have a mature and professional attitude
- work independently, and as part of a team.
- Class 5 driver’s license **with clean abstract**, required with resume
- Two years experience working in a similar capacity is preferred, but new graduates may be considered.
- Must be fluent in English.

**Salary**: $22.00-$30.00 per hour

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Field: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Driver's License (required)
- Commercial Driver's Abstract (required)
