Our client, Lighthouse Festival in Port Dover Ontario is searching for a Finance Supervisor as a key addition to their small and talented leadership team, someone who will bring a solid history of mature effectiveness to the Finance Department. **Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities**
- Develop strategy, coordination and direction of the finance department, including building financial controls and processes where necessary.
- Provide supervision and clear direction for one direct report.
- Preparation and analysis of month end reporting package.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people is essential. Serve as primary financial support, meeting regularly with other departments to provide financial guidance.
- Regular monitoring of cash flow and forecasting.
- Approval of invoice and receipts.
- Liaise with auditors and preparation of the audit package.
- Investigating and addressing reconciliation issues between various theatre software and the financial reports.
- Attend events to review and assess controls in action.
- Attend Board Finance and Audit committee meetings and presenting as requested.
- Provide assistance to the Executive Director as needed.
**Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge**
- Bachelor's degree, preferably with a specialization in Accounting, Finance or Commerce. Alternative combinations of education and pertinent work experience may also be considered.
- Technical competence with a minimum of 5 years of experience in full cycle accounting, ideally not-for-profit.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity within a finance department.
- Relevant professional accreditation (CPA, CPA CMA, CPA CGA) an asset but not required.
- Highly skilled user of QuickBooks (or similar accounting software) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Tessitura or other theatre software an asset.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate and work with a diverse range of people essential. Must be able to think and act strategically and problem solve effectively.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Aptitude in guiding individuals with limited financial acumen.
- Organized with the ability to multi-task and work under the pressure of deadlines.
- A confident, self-starter, proactive, skilled in taking initiative, assessing requirements, planning and taking the lead.
**Other Requirements**
- Valid Ontario Driver's License
- Vehicle to travel to multiple theatre locations periodically including Port Colborne and Simcoe
- Police Records Check
- Able to work on-site majority of the time
