**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
**This is an in office position**
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing all the accounts receivable and resolving all payment defaults through effective communication and exceptional service.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initiates contact with account holder to obtain or negotiate payment arrangements on past due accounts, while maintaining quality customer service.
- Accountable for investigating, tracking, and attempting to resolve payment issues
- Responsible for documenting conversations with customers and to update their payments and/or payment arrangements on account in computer system.
- Assists customers with questions and problems regarding account status, including reviewing payment schedules, discussing explanations for past due accounts, and clarifying payment policies.
- Prepares management reports on outstanding receivables performance and status.
- Responsible for handling and resolving customer inquiries and complaints about accounts receivable, credit and collections matters.
- Update and maintain all accounts receivables between credit terms and credit limit
- Prepare and distribute arrears notices and/or statements
- Conduct timely investigations on delinquent accounts, and proactively work with delinquent customers
- Manage objections and excuses and conflict resolution
- Maintain all records in a confidential and orderly manner
- Respond to all correspondence and inquiries related to the files
- Maintains files and electronic records
- Perform administrative tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
ú High School graduate or equivalent.
ú College Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or related program an asset
ú Previous Accounts Receivable experience
ú Knowledge of Construction Liens
ú Experience in collections of 5 million+ monthly
ú Experience using Credit Scores from Equifax to grant credit
ú Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
ú Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel & Word)
ú Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
ú Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
ú Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ú Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-24 per week
**Salary**: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
