**Supervisor, Finance**

Role Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Supervisor, Finance to rebuild and enhance the day-to-day finance function, ensuring client service levels are clearly defined, communicated, and effectively implemented. The WeirFoulds finance team comprises of 12 members and this role will report to the Senior Manager, Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and support the month-end and year-end close process, including reviewing journal entries, financial statements, reconciliations, analysis, and supporting schedules.
- Oversee and/or perform the daily banking and trust operations, including monitoring cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate funding for operations and managing the firm’s accounts.
- Lead on monthly Income Statement preparation and explanation. Ensuring high levels of accuracy and timely intervention when budgets breached.
- Oversee and/or perform the accounts payable functions, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and operating expenses, employee expense reports, company credit cards, cash control, Contract Lawyer payment and quarterly bonus calculations.
- Manage Contract Lawyer payments and address their associated pay related needs or issues as they arise.
- Manage Firm credit cards, ensuring appropriate usage, prepare and reconcile monthly credit cards, ensure proper coding in accounting system and monitor usage in accordance with Firm policy.
- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Finance in leading the annual audit process including preparation of financial statements and notes as well as coordinating and preparing responses to external auditor queries.
- Preparation and review of monthly and quarterly internal reports and external banking reports.
- Evaluate and continually improving firm’s accounting control systems (3E and Chrome River) and processes.
- Assist with or prepare budgets and forecasts including any financial projections, Contract Lawyer costing and/or the lawyers hours analysis.
- Participate and/or lead in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports as requested.
- Leadership of the AP/Trust team ensuring a culture of communication, mentoring, teamwork and collaboration.
- Oversees cash management controls and reporting.
- Completes additional projects as assigned timely and accurately.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- University degree A. in Accounting or Finance. CPA designation and/or MBA.
- Over 5 years of experience in Finance and Operations, with a background in Professional Services can be advantageous.
- Well-versed with commercial terms & conditions
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and nurture relationships at all levels, fostering a positive and productive work/team environment.
- Highly collaborative, self-starter who proactively engages with stakeholders, and can work with a sense of urgency and at an accelerated pace.
- Excellent project management, time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and demanding stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, while also being an integrated with the team.
- Proven capability in mentoring and developing teams.
- Proficient with MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams). Advanced skillsets and familiarity with MS Excel.
- Proficient with PDF software (Kofax Power PDF/ Adobe).
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
