Vet ER is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team

Vet ER is a full-service, privately owned and operated animal hospital in Edmonton, AB. We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our team. Duties include answering phones, greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and assisting in client service. This position is full-time shift work

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of two years of experience in a receptionist role
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision
- Must be comfortable with a fast-paced environment and able to prioritize tasks
- Must be comfortable with computers and able to learn new programs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on importance and follow through on commitments
- Professional attitude and appearance at all times
- Ability to work well with others as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm under stress or emergencies (e.g., during emergencies)
- Professional communication skills (oral and written) required.

**Duties Include**:

- Answer phone calls and direct calls to appropriate person as needed. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and providing assistance as needed. Assist in the scheduling of appointments for patients. Ensure that all appointments are scheduled in a timely manner.
- Greet clients upon arrival and check patients out as needed. Schedule new patients for appointments when applicable. Maintain patient records in accordance with facility procedures.
- Perform receptionist duties including answering incoming calls, greeting clients, taking messages, processing payments, filing documents, etc., when necessary. Maintain cleanliness of reception area including windows, phones, desk area, chairs, etc., according to facility procedures. Clean up patient areas according to facility procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by management or supervisor as needed.

Supplemental pay types:

**Experience**:

- Veterinary Reception: 1 year (required)
- Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Edmonton, AB T5S 1P2 (preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

- Edmonton, AB T5S 1P2: Relocate before starting work (preferred)
