**The Opportunity**

We're seeking a part-time Optometric Assistant & Receptionist to join our team. This dynamic role combines patient care coordination, administrative duties, and eyewear sales in a supportive environment where learning and growth are encouraged.

This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate your other commitments, with the potential to transition to full-time once you've mastered the role and as scheduling needs align.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Welcome and assist patients with a warm, professional demeanor
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow
- Handle phone inquiries with clear, patient communication
- Process insurance claims and billing
- Assist patients in selecting eyewear, providing personalized recommendations
- Maintain accurate patient records using both our paper filing system and Optosys software
- Support the doctor and team with various administrative tasks
- Contribute to our positive, collaborative team atmosphere

**What We're Looking For, Essential Qualifications**:

- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong computer skills and comfort learning new software
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable personality
- Professional presentation and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
- Enthusiasm for helping others and working as part of a team

**What We're Looking For, Highly Valued Assets**:

- Previous experience in an optometry or optical setting
- Experience with Optosys software
- Background in medical reception (physician, dental, or other healthcare offices)
- Sales or retail experience, particularly in a consultative setting
- Insurance billing experience
