**Job Description**:
What You’ll Be Doing

Commercial Banking and Wealth Management works in close collaboration with CIBC’s Personal and Business Banking and Capital Markets strategic business units to lead and manage the organic growth, client retention and profitability of CIBC’s businesses. Commercial Banking in Canada includes the development and implementation of a strategic plan that effectively integrates the diverse activities of Commercial Banking including delivery network, specialized industries, business solutions, segment strategy, deposits and lending practices as well as across all functional responsibilities.

As the Product Owner, Special Initiatives and Project Delivery, you will report to the Director, Technology, Data Governance and Special Initiatives, and will support planning and execution of high complexity transformational projects in the Commercial Bank. Working in Agile and non-Agile project environments, you will serve as a strong liaison between business and technology partners and will be responsible for the successful delivery of features and capabilities that meet the user and client needs and align to Commercial Banking’s strategic goals.

How You’ll Succeed
- Create a positive work environment and be an effective role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision and values.
- Assist with the oversight and the execution of transformational initiatives in the Commercial Bank.
- Serve as the customer proxy to the agile development teams, engage with end-users, and partner with stakeholders and customers across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.
- Work closely with the broader business team to ensure the creation and refinement of the product vision and roadmap. Identify and prioritize so that the right customer problems are solved in alignment with the strategic vision, competitive pressures and Business Case value drivers.
- Make recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
- Partner with sales departments to define the user experience for internal frontline users, including support and monitoring.
- Lead the product functional design process based on an intimate knowledge of the users and technology.
- Scope the Minimum Viable Product taking into account existing resource constraints and sustained development of the product.
- Translate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
- Working in an Agile environment, continuously review the business needs and refine priorities, outline milestones, deliverables, opportunities and risks.
- Gather, manage and prioritize the product backlog and ensure that user stories are “ready” for development to start work with clearly articulated acceptance criteria.
- Develop, own, and execute the product roadmap.
- Work with user-focused departments to define the self-service user experience, support, and monitoring for customers.
- Review Quality Assurance test plans to align with acceptance criteria and facilitate both testing and review of early builds for adherence to functional requirements.
- Effectively prioritize new features and product development based on competitive analysis, industry trends, customer feedback, and company vision.
- Develop value-at-stake models and define Key Performance Indicators to measure business outcomes and team success.
- Facilitate problem solving on a day-today basis as required, working closely with development on implementation challenges.
- Coach team members and help with their development/desired outcomes as required.
- Prioritizes defect or bug resolution.

Who You Are
- You have experience (3+ years) in Business and/or Commercial Banking, preferably in a front line role. Previous Agile Product Owner or related experience is an asset. Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience considered an asset.
- Technical skills. You have a working level understanding of Agile/Scrum processes, roles, and practices. Knowledge of Build Automation and Deployment Automation tools and techniques strongly recommended.
