**Patient Flow Clerk - Permanent Full Time**
**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager of Access and Flow, Patient Flow Clerk will connect with patients upon admission to explain and sign Patient Service Agreement, to ensure proper room placement and service requests. They will assist Intake Coordinators with patient account registrations and other administrative tasks.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate Patient Service Agreement (PSA) signings and identify additional services requested.
- Communicate to the Finance Department (Patient Accounts) of room preference and services requested.
- Obtain signed Personal Health Information release consent forms and send to appropriate departments.
- Update patient accommodation and services on Meditech system.
- Obtain Notice of Assessment (NOA) from MC patients.
- Scan service agreements and other documents into Meditech, and file copies for backup.
- Collaborate with Clerical Associate on the PCU to validate patients’ Health Card and identify Power of Attorney (POA).
- Complete delegated administrative tasks at Patient Flow; pre-admission phone calls, scanning and uploading documents into Meditech, and archiving documents, etc.
- Communicate with Utilization Discharge Coordinators to confirm which patients should be charge for Co-Payment, and any change of status that may result in charges starting or stopping.
- Training new staff as needed.
- Regularly review processes to streamline tasks.
- Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor/manager.
- College Diploma in Social Sciences or related experience in healthcare setting
- Minimum two (2) years’ work experience, preferably in a hospital setting
- Proficient using Windows Operating System, Microsoft OS, and Meditech
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and time management skills
- Flexibility to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
