Located on the beautiful shores of Chestermere Lake, we’ve been sharing the Gospel through fun, faith, and leadership development since 1937. Each summer, over 1,600 campers experience God’s love through exciting activities like kayaking, archery, team-building, and powerful worship sessions.

**DAY CAMP TEAM LEAD**
- The Day Camp Team Lead is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and execution of the Day Camp program under the guidance of the Camp Coordinator. This role requires a dynamic leader with the ability to collaborate with various teams, mentor staff, and engage with parents and campers. _
- The Day Camp Team Lead ensures that the program runs smoothly, providing a safe, fun, and enriching experience for all participants. The role involves managing the team of Day Camp leaders, developing schedules, organizing activities, and addressing any issues that arise._

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Program Management & Coordination**:
○ Oversee the Day Camp program, ensuring all activities, schedules, and logistics are running smoothly.

○ Collaborate with the Programs Lead to coordinate daily activities, games, and special events.

○ Relates issues regarding campers and staff to the Camp Coordinator and addresses issues appropriately as decided upon together.
- **Team Leadership & Mentorship**:
○ Train, mentor, and provide ongoing support to Day Camp leaders to ensure they are meeting performance expectations and creating a positive camp environment.

○ Give a weekly update on how each staff member is doing to the Camp Coordinator.

○ Lead weekly staff meetings, devotionals, and daily check-ins to keep the team informed, motivated, and equipped.

○ Provide feedback and support to help leaders address challenges, improve skills, and enhance their leadership effectiveness.

○ Care for and disciple Day Camp staff who stay on site after the Day Camp program finishes.
- **Parent & Camper Interaction**:
○ Serve as the main point of contact for parents, addressing any concerns, questions, or behavioral issues promptly and professionally.

○ Manage the camper sign-in/sign-out process, ensuring safety protocols are followed.

○ Work closely with parents, staff, and campers to resolve any behavioral challenges, ensuring a positive and respectful camp environment.
- **Facility & Resource Management**:
○ Ensure all Day Camp facilities are prepared, clean, and ready for use each day.

○ Oversee the setup and breakdown of camp spaces, ensuring resources and materials are in good condition and accessible for activities.
- **Staff Training**:
○ Assist with the training, and onboarding of Day Camp staff.

○ Plan and deliver training sessions specific to Day Camp.
- **Communication & Coordination**:
○ Communicate regularly with the Camp Coordinator about program updates, camper needs, and logístical adjustments.

○ Maintain clear and consistent communication with other camp departments, including the Office, Programs, and Worship teams, to ensure smooth operations and staff coordination.
- **Spring & Pre-Camp Preparation**:
○ Assist in planning and preparing the Day Camp program for the summer, including room setups, and developing materials for activities.

○ Lead the planning and decorating of Day Camp rooms with themed decor and organizational systems.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education & Experience**:
○ High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, youth ministry, or a related field preferred.

○ Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role in a camp, youth program, or other similar environment.

○ Experience in managing or supervising staff is highly desirable.
- **Skills & Abilities**:
○ Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

○ Ability to work well with children, parents, and a diverse team.

○ Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and working in a fast-paced environment.

○ Strong problem-solving abilities, with the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.

○ Familiarity with safety protocols and child protection standards.
