The Merchandising support provides assistance to the Showroom Merchandiser & Store Manager s in ensuring the store complies with the corporate floor plan, back room areas are properly maintained and follows all La-Z-Boy procedures and policies.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The Duties and Responsibilities of the Merchandising Support include but are not limited to the following:
- Floor walks with the Merchandiser & Store Manager when required;
- In partnership with the store manager, the Merchandising support will
- Reviews and prepares outgoing product transfers for the truck;
- Inventory management for all incoming and outgoing product;
- Maintains current incoming and outgoing transfer list;
- Able to understand and use resource materials provided by the RMM
- Identify and attach sales bills to product that is being picked up;
- Assist with the unloading of the transfer truck;
- Unpack and properly assemble and deliver to the floor all product to the manufacturer’s instructions provided with all product. Products include but are not limited to motion and stationary pieces, case goods, carpets and area rugs, lamps, accessories, and any other product that the Company sells, or uses to enhance the showroom. Assembly and delivery include moving, unpacking, laying on the floor (carpets), placing, and organizing;
- In partnership with the administrator, properly identify and attach regular price tickets to all product for the floor;
- Follow RMM & Showroom Merchandiser instructions for product placement on the floor;
- Assist and follow RMM & Showroom Merchandiser instructions for any moves that may need to take place to align the floor to the required periodic maintenance and changes to the corporate floor plan or vignette plan;
- Realign ceiling spot lights when required;
- Maintain the carpet rack per specifications with tags hung at 75”;
- Inspect and provide maintenance on floor product: tighten tables, touch up case pieces, leather and regulate back and seat cushions;
- Regular inspection and ensure all fireplaces, curios and wall clocks are in working order. Proper time is to be set on the wall clocks and maintained with the time change;
- When required, assist in the unpacking of accessories;
- Monitor and replace any burnt out bulbs/florescent fixtures on the floor and areas including washrooms, kitchen, offices and backrooms;
- All garbage is prepared for recycling and readied for the company transfer truck if necessary;
- Ensure the backroom is clean and swept, garbage removed, all equipment is unobstructed and complies with the labour laws, and equipment stored properly;
- Ensure the fire escape path and exit is unobstructed at all times;
- Paint touch up and fill wall holes when required;
- Perform tasks that may include any requests that may involve improvement of the safety of our customers and staff members;
- Check tiles in ceiling, replace when required and adjust T bar whererequired
- Regulate back cushions - adjust seat cushions in furniture on the floor;
- Management of cords on floors, vignettes and chair gallery. Monitor needs for extra supplies to ensure the store is up to corporate standards;
- Fasten tailgates on motion furniture;
- Ensure sectional are attached;
- Footrests are operating properly;
- Proper storage allocation of supplies from transfer;
- Alignment of chairs in chair gallery;
- Work with store manager periodically ensuring backroom and storage areas are meet 5S and Boomco standards;
- Be available to re-merchandise stores, and available to support all new store openings, relocations, renovations and re-merchandising activities;
- Report Health & Safety concerns to the Human Resources Director;
- Other duties assigned as needed that fit within the scope of a Merchandising assistant
**SPECIAL PROJECTS**
**From time to time the merchandising team will need to be available to help support store openings, relocations, renovations, and re merch’s. This would require travel outside your regular scope of work.**
**MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. utilizing dolly’s and hand truck for assistance;
- Own/Lease a vehicle in good working order with current Ontario drivers insurance;
- Able to work on your feet for long periods of time, with continuous walking through a retail showroom;
- Able to work on ladders (training at heights certification or background preferred);
- Able to work independently and at a fast pace;
- Able to listen and take direction
- Able to work with basic power tools
- Computer knowledge
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
**This role is one that can be physically demanding and the right person much be physically able to accomplish the following requirements to successful perform the role**:
