The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.
- Your challenge- The function of a Customer Service Representative is to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service through quick and accurate order processing and timely handling of customer inquiries.
- The Customer Service Representative must build and maintain business relationships by providing prompt and accurate service so as to promote customer loyalty. The Customer Service Representative reports to the Plant Manager.- Individual responsibilities-
- Take customer orders either directly from customers or sales representatives.
- Place orders on a timely basis so that Buyers can purchase materials and supplies to be used in production.
- Handle customer complaints and/or questions and follow up with appropriate internal personnel (Lab, Production, Purchasing, Accounting) as required.
- Trouble shoot customer order changes ensuring all changes are posted and processed.
- Maintain customer files ensuring contact and order information is kept up to date.
- Process new order items.
- Process purchase orders for tooling (print plates and steel rule dies).
- Record and distribute customer order changes.
- Resolve any NCR’s as they occur throughout the order cycle in compliance with ISO standards.
- Serve as the initial point of contact when new customers call to request information. Forward customer to Area Sales Representative where required.
- Follow up on customer orders and coordinate with shipping and production to ensure orders are delivered on time.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experiences and strengths- DEC (college diploma) in administration and/or operations management or equivalent.
- Strong communication and Interpersonal skills
- 1-3 Years of Customer Service Experience, must in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work autonomously and with little direction
- Must be a team player committed to maintaining desired service levels
- Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to present self in a professional manner
