**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
McDougall Energy is looking for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working within a fast-paced team environment as an **Accounting Administrator **to join our Finance team on a **12-month fixed term contract**. Reporting to the Accounting Coordinator, the Accounting Administrator is responsible for general accounting duties in supporting our financial operations and contribution to our success.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Monitor transactions and ensure accuracy in balancing to the general ledger.
- Lead monthly reconciliations and diligently record transactions into our ERP system, maintaining data integrity.
- Extract and analyze financial data from our ERP system into spreadsheets, providing valuable insights.
- Prepare, organize, and upload data into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for tax return preparation.
- Reconciliation of various expenses and capital asset/project accounts, ensuring precision and compliance.
- Draft documents in Microsoft Word, including policies, education materials, and communications.
- Act as the primary back-up for retail administration.
- Contribute to month-end, year-end, and audit activities.
**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS**:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting and/or office environment is preferred.
- College Diploma in Accounting or related area.
- Tax return preparation experience would be an asset.
- Demonstrated experience working in a computerized and accounting software environment.
- ERP experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of data; strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical, organizational and prioritization skills; committed to deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task and shift focus with ease.
- Open to learning and development, constructive criticism, and feedback.
- Proficient in working with Microsoft Office; specifically in Excel.
- Strong understanding of Privacy and Confidentiality in the workplace.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships.
- Demonstrated success in living the values of McDougall Energy.
