Kenneth E Spencer Memorial Home is currently looking to hire 2 Summer Resident Support Attendants to join our 200 bed home for the summer months.

The **Resident Support Attendant** provides general assistance to the nursing team including transporting residents; answering call bells; delivering messages; maintaining cleanliness and organization in residents’ rooms; maintaining supplies; assisting with resident nutrition including feeding residents; and providing one-on-one support to residents.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Transport residents to and from the dining room, onsite programs, etc
- Assist residents who require feeding (must work with in-house dietician to obtain safe feeling requirements
- Provide one-on-one visits with residents
- Make beds and tidy resident rooms - organize closets
- Clean spills, remove garbage from resident rooms
- Clean & disinfect tubs after baths
- Assist with sanitizing surfaces
- Assist Resident Attendants with snack/nutrition carts
- Help to clear lounge areas
- Practice proper personal hand hygiene - and assist residents before and after meals
- Protect the health & safety of residents, co-workers and self by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and participating in health & safety related training (PPE training)
- Work co-operatively with staff and volunteers to meet resident and family needs
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 education
- Mentally and physically capable of performing assigned duties
- Neat and clean appearance
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a positive history of patience, compassion and courtesy when dealing with residents and others
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team setting
- Ability to take direction

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $15.65 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
