Aboriginal Health & Wellness Centre of Winnipeg Inc. is currently seeking a qualified individual for the following position**:Program Coordinator of Housing and Housing Supports**.

Working under the direction of the Director of Housing and Housing Supports, the Program Coordinator of Housing and Housing Supports:

- utilizes a Trauma-informed, Housing First and Harm Reduction approach providing a broad spectrum of services to meet the needs of the program participants via direct and indirect contact.
- will ensure that all activities are undertaken in a manner that is consistent with and complementary to the Vision Statement, the Principles and Values, and the policies and procedures of the Aboriginal Health & Wellness Centre.

**Program and Service Supports**:

- In collaboration with the Director of Housing and Housing Supports and Team Lead support staff to adhere to Housing First and Harm Reduction philosophy/ principles
- Collaborating with the Director of Housing and Housing Supports and Team Lead to provide leadership and guidance to staff on clinical issues and record confidential information as required (PHIA, FIPPA).
- In collaboration with the Director of Housing and Housing Supports, share responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day activities to support and address the housing needs of constituents.

**Staff Supports**:

- In collaboration with the Director of Housing and Housing Supports supervise frontline staff by articulating expectations, displaying model behaviour, maintaining open lines of communication and being clear about roles and relationships.
- In collaboration of the Director of Housing and Housings Supports ensure that all staff members work in a way that demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the rights of participants being served
- In collaboration with the Director of Housing and Housing Supports and Team Lead support staff in providing outreach, diversion, advocacy, and other needed services for constituents in any environment including: the streets, shelters, prisons, hospitals, apartments, office, etc.
- Provide staff with feedback and constructive criticism, when required

**Team Environment**:

- Maintains and supports respectful working relationships with colleagues, staff of Housing and Housing Support programs, auxiliary service providers, community agencies, etc.
- Work towards creating and supporting a positive working environment
- Follows through on team-related goals such as special events, facilitating networking meetings, etc.
- Communicate consistently and respectfully by sharing knowledge, experience, and information to strengthen the team

**Intake**:

- Follow the process set out by Coordinated Access (Naamooskakowin) through End Homelessness Winnipeg to support the intake of constituents into the programs.
- In collaboration with Team Lead, ensure that constituents accepted into the program meet the identified criteria of all Housing First and Non-Housing First supports set out by the programs.
- In collaboration with the Team Lead, is responsible for the intake into the AHWC programs and participates in the warm handoff (WHO) of constituents from Coordinated Access into the programs.
- Support the intake and assessment process for the Stepping Forward Auxiliary program.
- Meets with participants on office visits and support the intake process for all program participants. etc.
- Collaborate with the Director of Housing and Housing Support and Team Lead to support the diversion process for individuals that do not meet the Housing First criteria.

**Community Relations**:

- Represent AHWC Housing and Housing Support programs positively in the community
- Liaises with Housing First organizations/agencies, other community organizations and groups for services and support that will enhance the lives of constituents being supported in both Housing First and non-Housing First programming.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Social Sciences with an emphasis on meeting the needs of vulnerable populations, or Education & Experience deemed acceptable by the Aboriginal Health and Wellness Centre of Winnipeg.
- Program management or supervisory experience with a minimum of three years of related experience in the non-profit sector, preferably with organizations working with homelessness.
- Experience in service delivery supporting individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness, mental health, trauma, addictions
- Experience in services that support community outreach and/or affordable housing.
