**Job Profile**
The Equipment Operator's goals are to move materials through Prairie Machine facilities, maintain a clean and organized yard, and enhance the utilization of yard space. This position performs all duties in compliance with Prairie Machine’s safety policy and procedures.
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Operate a variaty of equipment to move material through facilities, as required
- Maintain exterior yard for maximum efficiency
- Actively communicate with supervisors and operators to effectively handle material and notify them of problems/concerns
- Assist all other departments as requested
- Properly document work performed
- Assist in the effective completion of inventory audits
- Stack skids or pallets in designated areas
- Clean up and dispose of scrap and place in proper containers or designated areas
- Sign applicable driver documentation as required
- Ensure the yard is properly maintained and well organized
- Other tasks as assigned

- Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations
- Instill a safety culture; lead by example
- Identify and record non-conformities and participate in their resolution
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Recommend improvements and develop improvement plans in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions
- Maintain a well-organized and clean facility as per Prairie Machine vision
- Maintain all equipment and tools per recommended procedures
- Ability to work as a respectable, professional and efficient team member
- Maintain a healthy work environment and develop employees on a professional level
**What You Bring**
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail orientated and organized
- Work under pressure well
- Ability to follow instructions
- Work independently as well as in a team environment
**Qualifications**
- Completion of Grade 12 or GED
- 1 - 2 years Exterior Yard experience
- Must hold a valid forklift operator license from a recognized training provider
- Large capacity forklift experience is required
**Shift - Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm**
