Your responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting fundamental research and analysis in support of existing investments and potentially new investment ideas, in quantitative research of alpha signals.- Review and support the preparation of financial statement models and projections used to determine equity valuations- Assist investment team in preparing written reports and presentation materials- Provide analytical and financial modeling support to Research Analysts- Develop strong relationships with Research Analysts and Associates to assist them in supporting the accountabilities- Keep current on political and economic trends and events- Create and maintain positive relationships within and outside the team- Willing to focus on what matters most; demonstrated ability to prioritize time and tasks- Work closely with portfolio managers of leading funds in the Canadian portfolio management industry, including sit-down, one-on-one job shadowing opportunities- Gain exposure to various investment classes and areas, including but not limited to equity research, fixed income, and foreign exchange- Participate in a variety of investment-related meetings, such as macroeconomic discussions and brainstorming sessions with portfolio managers, equity analysts, and fixed income analysts- Enhance financial research skills by working on the buy-side with access to numerous sell-side reports authored by experts in their fields- Benefit from continuous mentorship and feedback, applicable to multiple areas of finance and essential for career development
Your Qualifications:
- Strong desire to develop a deep understanding of the financial industry
- Demonstrated dedication to learning and a true passion for finance and the capital markets
- Experience with Excel and PowerPoint are required
- Strong communication, planning and organization skills are required
- Knowledge of financial analytical and research skills would be an asset
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
Education- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree within a relevant discipline (e.g.)finance, math)
