Laundry Attendant Part-time

**JOB SUMMARY**

As a Laundry Attendant, you are committed to providing our guests an exceptional stay at our hotel. You will be responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean and well-maintained linen and terry for the hotel and storage rooms. This is a unionized part-time position.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

This position is responsible for the following tasks:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the laundry department, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing of linens, towels, and banquet linen, as well as stripping dirty bed linen and dirty bathroom linen from the room.
- Pick up and strip all linen/towels from the guest rooms after checking out when necessary.
- Presorting lines from the chute and salvage stained or torn items.
- Loading, cleaning, and operating commercial washers and dryers.
- Clean all drains from the washing machine.
- Clean all dryers and behind them.
- Clean the chute area at least once a week.
- Keep the laundry area clean and free of health and safety dangers.
- Contribute to energy conservation and ensure safe usage/storage of all materials/equipment and chemicals.
- Bring stock from the storage for room attendants when needed.
- Fill the room attendant’s bag with rags and towels.
- Fill linens on housekeeping carts.
- Folding and stacking towels, sheets, and other linen.
- Ability to use the iron /press machine and folding machine.
- Stock storerooms with accurate amounts of linens and room supplies.
- Reporting equipment problems to maintenance/supervisor
- Inspecting linens for stains and tears
- To assist with inventory controls
- To work and communicate professionally and ethically with colleagues and guests.
- To assist with team member orientation/training within the department
- To attend meetings and training as required and to recognize the importance of contributing new ideas
- To contribute to the security of the building, company asses, and guest/go-workers safety with complete adherence to security procedures with proper handling of keys/key fobs.
- Adhere to all matters relating to health, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Other duties as required.

**Minimum Qualifications Required**:

- Proven experience (2-3 years) in a commercial laundry or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of laundry processes, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding techniques.
- Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment and understanding of maintenance and repair practices.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of laundry management software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Preferred:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and communicate with clients.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to laundry operations.
