**The Position**:
Based in BC, but reporting to both the Senior Group Accountant in London and the Canadian Managing Director, we have an opportunity for a financial controller to cover all aspects of finance for our three Canadian subsidiaries. We are looking for a hands-on, highly capable individual who will have a very broad role. Duties will range from invoicing, credit control and accounts payable through to budgeting / forecasting and liaising with external advisors such as auditors and tax accountants.

The starting salary for this position is **$110,000.00 CAD.**

**What do the first three months on the job look like?**:
You will receive structured targets, regular feedback and an annual performance review. You will also follow a clearly defined career path that recognises personal development and contribution to the company.

You can expect to be responsible for:

- Preparing timely monthly consolidation reports and financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Performing variance analysis and providing financial reporting
- Coordinating budgeting based on our P&L and sales projections
- Preparing annual audit file
- GST/PST filings
- General journal entries
- Bank reconciliations
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- General bookkeeping
- Invoicing
- Credit control
- Providing oversight of payroll and health insurance
- Ensuring compliance with all government and tax authority requirements
- Providing financial analysis on an ad-hoc basis
- Managing a finance team

**Training**:
Acturis believes that a mix of internal and external training allows colleagues to develop rounded skills:

- New joiners receive concentrated initial training and close mentoring
- Colleagues are encouraged to complete industry standard training in relevant topics
- More senior colleagues can attend courses funded by the company
- The Acturis management team run training sessions to pass on experience and best practice
- Accounting certification
- 5 years post qualified experience
- Advanced skills with accounting software (experience with Sage X3 useful but not mandatory)
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Excellent computer skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Strong organization along with time management skills
