In this role you will underwrite small commercial business. Negotiate pricing for new business opportunities and renewals to ensure a profitable book of business within established underwriting authority.
What You'll Do- Assess and evaluate the risk for new and existing business- Provide excellent customer service- Analyze reports to resolve adequate exposure and loss ratings.- Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing levels and policy form amendments- Manage and negotiate renewal terms for the retention of business.-
- Respond to inquiries from brokers regarding modification to policy files in a timely and efficient manner.- Start to build and maintain excellent broker relationships by doing broker visits with other underwriters.-
What You'll Bring- Excellent oral and written communication skills.- Experience in the insurance industry ideally in underwriting- Strong interpersonal and administration skills.- Highly motivated and hard-working.- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.- Good digital literacy.- Ability to meet challenging deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.- Knowledge of the RTM system is an asset.
What You’ll Get- The salary band for this position ranges from $39,600 to $73,500.
