Assurance Lead - From £60,000 up to £75,000

A bit about the job:
Our Assurance team is evolving and a leadership position in the team has arisen at this very exciting juncture. ‘Assurance’ can mean many things, and this team, sitting in the 1st line Governance and Assurance team offers a broad range of services to the business, in line with our team purpose ‘
_Helping the Business Execute the Strategy safely and at pace’_.

Our assurance plan is business-led, we are invited in by our business stakeholders to support them in areas where there are issues, they need to size, rectify, or even simply understand better. Our work can also be preventative, helping the business better understand potential areas of weakness, how they may be strengthened and the likely consequences if no action is taken.

We can also provide comfort that things are working well, for instance validating areas where change or rectification work has been implemented to ensure outcomes are robust. As we are invited in by the business, we work hand in hand with our stakeholders and deliver our findings in the way that will assist them most.

The role holder will lead a team of skilled Assurance Managers in the delivery of great quality assurance support to our business.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Expert in assurance methods and techniques and determining how these can be applied to best effect in varying settings and scenarios.- Brilliant leadership, coaching and people development capabilities.- Excellent understanding of governance process in the Life Insurance Industry.- Strong knowledge of operational risk and control management in a Life Insurance setting and how these operate.- A great communicator, both in writing and verbally, with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

What you’ll get for this role:
