**About the job**

The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician role supports the product quality function for fastener products under the daily guidance of the Quality Supervisor and/or the Sr. Quality Engineer. Core areas of focus will be Vision System Programming and Customer/Operational Quality support.

**Roles and responsibilities**
- Knowledge and experience in programming Vision Inspection Systems such as Keyence (preferred), SmartScope, and Mitutoyo. This includes designing part fixtures and producing CAD drawings for manufacturing.
- Provides technical support to Operations Group in troubleshooting part issues on the Keyence measuring system. Train new production operators in part fixturing and Keyence measuring process.
- Participate (and Lead) the APQP process with Engineering Group for new and revised fastener designs. Produce (and update) linked documents for PFMEA, Control Plan and QA Inspection Sheets including the Keyence Inspection program.
- First assignment for a number of months will be working directly with the Sr. Quality Engineer on Keyence programming and all aspects of APQP documents.
- Support internal and external customer quality issues with part dimensional/functional analysis and 8D problem-solving reports. May include direct interfacing with external customers and leading internal review with Operations Group.
- Review and with the interpretation of OEM fastener specifications in the design and set up of performance testing requirements. Provide direct support to Corporate Sales and Engineering Groups and customer engineers on part performance testing.
- Participate with Quality Team in the preparation and execution of customer visits, surveys and audits.
- Knowledge in AIAG PPAP submission requirements.
- Understanding of IATF-16949 quality system requirements. Certification as Quality Auditor is an asset.
- Able to travel as required locally and within USA to provide customer on-site support for part quality issues. Travel is infrequent but could be 2-3 days in a given week with little notice.
- Ensure work is performed in a safe manner in support of TRIR goal of the company.
- Ensure work areas are clean and well maintained.

**Education, Experience and Skills**
- Post-secondary education in a technical discipline, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred.
- Proficiency in Automotive Core Tools and 8D Problem-Solving methodologies.
- Experience in GD&T in designing inspection controls using Keyence measuring system.
- ASQ certification as Quality Engineer is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge in metal stamping and forming including heat treatments.
- Strong oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
- Team player who contributes valuable ideas, opinions and feedback. Works hard at being collaborative and maintaining positive working relationships.
- Self-motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Highly skilled at problem analysis and resolution
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple responsibilities and tasks on a daily basis.
