Calgary, Canada The Calgary John Howard Society Full time

**Part-Time/Full Benefit - 30 hrs/wk**

**The Agency**

The Calgary John Howard Society (CJHS) is a charity that reduces crime and makes Calgary communities safer by helping youth and adults make positive changes and move away from criminal behaviour. We do this by addressing the root causes of crime through housing, education, employment programs and support so that individuals have alternatives to breaking the law. CJHS is committed to restorative justice and an organizational environment that recognizes the dignity and worth of each person. CJHS values diversity and inclusion and welcomes qualified applicants from all walks of life.

**The Program**

Employment Services programming in the agency provides trauma-informed employment preparation, skill development and certification training for adults who have been criminally involved. As a component of agency employment services programming, the Learning Enhanced Employment Program (LEEP) is delivered in a structured three-week group format offered eight times per year, in addition to condensed summer workshops. Service delivery includes specific employment-related group workshops and opportunities for clients to complete industry certification training to enhance employability and confidence in securing and maintaining employment. LEEP is integrated with individualized employment service programming at the agency, all of which address barriers to employment and move individuals away from poverty and towards socio-economic well-being. All employment programs are delivered within a dynamic and interactive Adult Services Team that works collaboratively to provide effective and coordinated services to all adult clients.

**The Position**

Reporting to the Community Services Manager, the Employment Facilitator will work closely with the LEEP Coordinator and intentionally collaborate with and support the Employment Services Team to align services to best meet client needs. They will assist with the scheduling of LEEP groups, the facilitation of specific workshop sessions, and arranging in advance the facilitation of workshop sessions and training provided by external and internal service providers. The Employment Facilitator will also assist with all aspects of service delivery activities within LEEP, including data collection, database input, outcome measurement, evaluation, and related administrative activities. In addition, they will work in an integrated and collaborative way with the Adult Services Team and other Community Services Teams within the agency.

- Assisting with the coordination of annual group program schedules
- Preparing for workshop sessions instruction and scheduling certification training in advance
- Client intakes and assessments
- Facilitation and co-facilitation of various soft-skill workshops and providing individual support as needed
- Program marketing, networking, and building supportive working relationships with service providers and community resources
- Data collection and documentation, records management, database input, participant evaluations and administrative tasks
- Assisting with internal and external program reporting as required
- Attending regularly scheduled agency and applicable team meetings
- Providing support to other team members as needed

**Qualifications**
- Relevant post-secondary education and/or experience (human services, adult education etc.)
- Strong group facilitation skills (preferably related to pre-employment training)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
