**CHILDCARE PROGRAM COORDINATOR**

**Located in Glendon, Alberta**

**Summary**

Coordinates the provision of nurturing care and developmentally appropriate education to meet the needs of children in a group setting within a safe and healthy environment, through supervision of daycare staff and in cooperation with parents and other groups within the program.

**Job Duties**
- Oversight of the day to day operations of the childcare program at Her Recovery
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the quality of childcare programs
- Assist educators with childcare
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with out-patient healthcare and education for children, advocating for their health and wellness
- Model and manage a team of childhood educators, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and education
- Responsible for inventory and ordering of supplies for both employees and the facility (daycare)
- Spend the majority of time on the floor actively engaging with educators and children, demonstrating best practices and fostering a positive learning environment
- Ensure that the daycare facilities and rooms are properly set up, organized, and maintained to meet regulatory standards and promote safety
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of childcare staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Collaborate with the Director, Program Facilitators, Addictions Counselors, and Support Workers of Her Recovery to develop and maintain positive relationships with mothers, addressing their concerns and need in a timely and effective manner
- Support the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and industry standards

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, families and employees
- Demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Knowledge of licensing, health and fire regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Infant first aid and CPR Certification
- Provision of a clear vulnerable sector and criminal record check.
- Sound knowledge of, or become willing to be trained in, the Mental Health Services Protection Regulation, Mental Health Services Protection Act, and Residential Treatment Services Standards
- Critical Incident Prevention Training or become willing to be trained in Critical Incident Prevention Training

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
