**The Agency**

**The Program**

Bedford House is a Community Residential Facility (CRF) for men on a federal conditional release. It has 32 apartments and utilizes an independent living model while providing support, intensive case management and connections to appropriate community services. Practices are rooted in the CJHS Practice Framework Principles of trauma-informed care, cultural respect and inclusion, restoration and transformation, natural supports and social inclusion and harm reduction. Bedford House works closely with our funder and partner the Correctional Service of Canada, to ensure the residents have the appropriate support and supervision to make positive changes and address the factors contributing to their criminal behaviours.

**The Position**

The Weekend Overnight Support Worker is responsible for providing support and supervision to residents, managing the facility in accordance with written policy, performing all general shift duties, strong written/verbal communication, maintaining a flexible approach in meeting the needs of the residents while maintaining the safety of the community, and being prepared and able to deal with routine/crisis situations. The shifts are awake overnights, 21:00 - 07:00, Friday and Saturday.

The Weekend Overnight Support Worker will have strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting; some relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience working within the criminal justice system; good verbal and written communication skills, sound problem-solving and decision-making skills; the ability to set and maintain professional boundaries; and knowledge regarding trauma-informed care. A current criminal record check (CPIC) is required, as well as an Enhanced Reliability Screening through the Government of Canada.

Brain Story Certification considered an asset.
