The Manulife Bank & Trust's Portfolio Management group is currently looking for a dynamic individual to join their team as a Commercial Loans Underwriter **.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Analyze a breadth of commercial files and complex high net worth individuals for loan products largely focused on insurance lending, and commercial real estate.
- Manage a high net worth personal loan portfolio and commercial lending portfolio with an average case size of $1,000,000.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of business financial statements, conduct cash flow analysis and collateral analysis.
- Deal with customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Assume the role of Senior advisor, teacher, mentor and expert to more junior staff.
- When called upon, conduct educational workshops for 3rd parties.
- Project a positive attitude with the ability to cope and help others to cope with change when required.
- Make decisions, commensurate with good depth of exposure, on referred problem cases.
- High degree of contact with clients, sales reps, advisors and professionals.
- Contribute to development of new business opportunities (when possible).

**Special condition - work from home opportunity/ Hybrid: Oakville or Waterloo Office Locations - 2 days a week**

Minimum 10 Years Bank lending experience with minimum 7 years commercial.
- Excellent to Expert Knowledge of Personal and Commercial lending policies and practices, as well as Bank loan policies and procedures.
- Excellent to Expert knowledge of business financial statements.
- Understanding of life insurance lending is an asset.
- Excellent ability to structure credit requests in a concise and coherent manner to facilitate credit approval.
- Ability to process complex commercial requests.
- Conduct Annual Reviews of more complex commercial relationships within portfolio.
- Entrepreneurial instincts contribute to development of new business opportunities.
