**Respite Program for Children**:

- This is a part-time contract position, as such, the Supervisor is referred to as a Program Consultant for the organization._

**Organizational Overview**
FOOTPRINTS is a local, volunteer-driven, not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to the provision of quality respite care for families with children 13 years and under who are on the Autism Spectrum.
Our program offers recreational respite, not therapy, in a safe, supportive and happy environment. It has been designed solely for the benefit of the children and for the relief of their families.

**Objective**
The purpose of this contract is to retain an inclusive personable individual with extensive autism knowledge, and skilled at leading a children’s program; strong leadership with critical thinking to make decisions; excellent communicator that works well in a team; and, organizational skills to fully execute the position. The Program
Consultant position is part of the Operations team and supervises the facilitation of the Saturday respite program. Team members at are fully vaccinated (at least 2 doses) and is mandatory for this position.

**Description of Services**
1. Organize, develop and facilitate the recreational respite care program to support autistic children based on

FOOTPRINTS 4 Autism core values. Assess and enhance the quality of care working collaboratively with the Steering Committee, Operations Manager, other Consultants, volunteers/students, community groups, and families.

3. Supervise clients and encourage participation to maximize a positive experience. Provide update on program day/progress to families.

4. Supervise and mentor Alternate Program Consultants, volunteers and students based on best practices and promote team work. Provided evaluation of team support to the Operations Manager.

5. Collaborate with the Volunteer Services Consultant to meet appropriate volunteer support for sessions.

6. Maintain appropriate program reports; manage program budget including program fees and receipts; maintain clients files; and, evaluate the program to enhance overall development and goals.

7. Attend monthly operations meeting and/or other meetings/events as required.

8. Respond to respite care inquiries and be an ambassador to represent the respite program as required.

**Assumptions and Agreements**
- Start Date: As soon as possible, six months contract with potential for renewal
- In-person client service delivery every Saturday at St. Mark’s United Church in Whitby (201 Centre Street South)
- Saturday shift from 8:30am to 5:30pm
- Attend monthly Operations meeting and/or other meetings/events as required
- FOOTPRINTS has the right to negotiate contract rate and hours

**Qualifications to be addressed in the submission**
- Knowledge and skill generally associated with the completion of a Diploma in Human/Social Services or similar relevant education, or have an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Two years minimum of direct in-person service delivery and program planning for children with developmental disabilities; knowledge of autism and activities that best support a fun recreational
- based positive experience.
- Demonstrated management and supervision of a community-based program; leadership qualities to mentor and motivate a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with parents/guardians, team/volunteers/students and external stakeholders including the public.
- Excellent critical thinking and conflict resolution skills; team player; and, strong time management skills able to prioritize conflicting demands.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Graphic design and/or web development is an asset.
- Have a valid driver’s license and use of reliable vehicle to attend program and meetings and/or events.
- Required current documents:

- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Current Crisis Intervention, Behaviour Management Systems or similar
- Current Police criminal record and vulnerable persons check
- Vaccination certificate with 2 doses minimum
