**Weekend Support Worker**

Available shifts
- 7am
- 3pm (Sat/ Sun) every other weekend (2) (can pick up additional shifts)

**Position Description**

This position will be responsible for the daytime safety and security of the emergency shelter and the drop-in. CSC is a person-centred agency dedicated to assisting individuals in moving forward with their lives. Staff are expected to be actively working with residents.

Duties of the weekend staff person will include the following:
Maintain order in the drop-in and emergency shelter

Log in clients for lunch at 12:00 p.m.

Check the grounds and the parking lot

Routinely check the washrooms and ensure occupants are safe

Work cooperatively with volunteers and other staff

Keep up-to-date, legible logbooks and reporting forms

Respond to any emergencies in a fast and efficient manner

Tidy up the drop-in centre and clean as necessary (may include laundry)

Work cooperatively with other staff and community agencies

Admit police and other emergency personnel

Call 911 for any medical or other emergency

Pass on any relevant information to overnight staff and the Program Manager
- **Qualifications**_

Preference given to diploma/ degree or relevant experience, but not required.

Great experience for those with diplomas/ degrees in Social Work, Addictions, or criminal justice/ police foundations.

Vulnerable Sector Police check required

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 8 per week

**Salary**: $19.40 per hour

- Social Services Occupations: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
