**Job Summary**

The Quantitative Investments team employs a systematic quantitative approach to the management of equity strategies implemented via mutual funds, hedge funds, segregated accounts and ETFs. The team takes a multi-factor approach to building and managing investment solutions. The models are data-driven and grounded in sound fundamental and economic rationale. It is a highly collaborative environment in which the research, portfolio management and systems development teams constantly interact. The team manages CAD$20bn of client investments.

**What will you do?**

As a Quantitative Research Analyst, you will
- Play a lead role in research execution with the goal of improving investment performance - contributing to the areas of data exploration and validation, alpha research, risk modeling, portfolio construction, attribution, and performance analysis
- Take ownership of own delivery by prioritizing effectively, communicating proactively, and managing tasks to deadlines
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary project teams consisting of research analysts, research engineers, portfolio managers, data specialists, technology analysts and developers
- Embrace the investment philosophy and process of the team and contribute constructively to continued development team’s research framework and processes, and champion compelling research ideas and initiatives in line with Quantitative Investments’ investment philosophy
- Remain at the cutting edge of research and development in quantitative investments recognizing that we must continually evolve our investment skills, processes, and technology

**What do you need to succeed?**

**Must Have**
- Strong collaboration skills and a pro-active approach to communication. Ability to deliver accurate results that have impact on tight deadlines, including the write-up and presentation of research
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative finance, statistics/machine learning, data science, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in the financial industry or in finance research working with financial data; experience with equity data is strongly preferred; buy-side investing experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of key mathematical, statistical, and machine-learning concepts and techniques that are applied in quantitative investments including portfolio optimization, risk management and performance analysis
- Strong programming skills in Matlab, Python and SQL with experience in data preparation and exploratory analysis

**Nice to Have**
- Master’s or higher degree in quantitative finance, statistics/machine learning, data science, or a related field
- Proficiency in cloud-based machine learning platforms such as Databricks and experience in Tableau or other data visualization tools (Qlik, PowerBI, etc.), with a strong understanding of best practices in data visualization and dashboard design
- Completion or enrollment in CFA
