**Job Description**:
The MV Business Development - Heavy Industries role is intended to support the North America Sales Organization and Distributors in the pursuit of Heavy Industry Projects for Medium Voltage, with a focus on Water/WasteWater (W/WW), but also expanding practices to other heavy industries such as Mining, Oil and Gas.
This role is responsible for the entire MV suite of products including MV Motor Control Centers and MV Variable Frequency Drives and exists within an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) environment, where there are customizable solutions to meet customer-specific requirements.
**Position Summary**
- Responsible for supporting North America (NA) sales and distributors for our Medium Voltage suite of products which includes both Motor Control Centers and Variable Frequency Drives.
- Aligning activities to support existing NA sales force resources such as account managers, technical consultants, and solution consultants. The activities include:
- Promote Rockwell MV solutions to heavy industry EPCs, SIs, OEMs, consultants and municipalities
- Work with Consulting Engineers during project design phase to best position Rockwell’s MV products
- Review project plans and specs and develop proposals with RA and 3rd party products and services to comply to requirements
- Ensure customer technical requirements are achieved with the most cost-effective solutions
- Support Rockwell WIN strategy and Focused Account Plans; Work with sales and distributors to develop bid strategies to win orders
- Provide budgetary estimates and technical data to help assist in the design-phase of projects
- Negotiate pricing and terms with OEMs, contractors and distributors
- Responsible for the accuracy of quotations for customer solutions while meeting Rockwell margin expectations through validation of costing on the solution (including 3rd party content and customized options)
- Meet financial targets for sales, growth and profitability
- Work with Engineering and Project Managers to help ensure smooth order hand off and execution
- Work with North America Industry teams to identify market needs and work with MV Business Functions to provide updated solutions to meets these needs
- Responsibility to deliver growth through quotation and orders targets to meet and exceed Annual Operation Plans
- Support customer visits, training schools, and conference calls to aid in pre-sales and post sales activities
- Communicates with the Product Management team to analyze competition, recommend new offerings, or suggest refinements for success
- Must be willing and able to travel to customer sites, and special events in the US.
- Represent Rockwell at various industry events and trade shows
**Basic Qualifications**
- University or College Degree in Electrical Technology or Engineering or Bachelor’s degree
- Travel up to 10%
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of experience in Heavy Industry, with Water/Waste Water (W/WW) the primary focus
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with partners (OEMs, SIs, Consultants, EPCs, GCs)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Rockwell MV Products and Applications
- Demonstrated experience providing solutions in an ETO environment
- Demonstrated experience planning, executing, and controlling project deliverables to ensure that customer needs are met
- Effectively communicates and gives presentations (internal and external)
- Promote good relationships with internal and external customers
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership skills
- Some Medium Voltage Power Systems Domain Knowledge
