The primary duties of the Payroll & Benefits Coordinator will consist of:
**Accountabilities**:
- Complete accurate & timely semi-monthly payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees (non-union) across Western Canada in conjunction with third party payroll processing provider, ADP.
- Maintain knowledge of company guidelines, payroll & timekeeping systems, and prevailing payroll legislation.
- Complete annual T4 & T2200 review, validation and distribution.
- Review time records for completeness & accuracy, compile information, and liaison with ADP for accurate data entry.
- Liaise with 3rd party payroll providers regarding service and troubleshooting issues.
- Supporting the Safety Manager, with completing WCB information, including reporting, monitoring Company WCB results, as well as ensuring payments to WCB are accurately processed.
- Maintaining payroll records within ADP Workforce Now, Sun Life, Manulife and BC Ministry of Health. This includes new hires, terminations, salary changes, variable compensation, & deductions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage benefit billings including cost sharing premiums, analyzing program costs, and program utilization.
- Complete Plan Sponsor Statements for Disability Claims.
- Building & maintaining trusted working relationships by providing excellent customer service & contributing to a positive working environment.
- Assist with month end & fiscal year end reporting.
- Assist in year-end activities, including taxable benefits, and tax form preparation.
- Additional duties as assigned.
**Performance Measures**:
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail and achieve high levels of accuracy.
- Able to attend work reliably and consistently.
- Strict adherence to all deadlines.
- Deliver a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
**Experience and Skill Requirements**:
- Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience processing payroll and administering benefits with a strong preference given to those with experience working within ADP Workforce Now.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
- High level of ethics, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be self-directed, self-motivated, and have proven ability to practice sound judgment in making decisions while working independently.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
