Payment Processing Supervisor

**Description**:
The Payment Processing Supervisor is responsible for the daily processing of payments from various sources, such as mail, Lockbox, and internet. This includes the opening and sorting of physical mail, data entry, scanning, preparation of bank deposits, and the supervision of reconciliations and other entry level accounting tasks.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supervise daily payment processing activities and ensure timely and accurate transaction processing.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies related to payment processing.
- Analyze transaction data and prepare reports to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.

**Processing mail, Lockbox, and Internet Payments**
- Manually post cheque & cash payments into accounting software
- Handling exceptions from the lockbox, produced by missing information that has not been supplied by the customer
- Handling exceptions from Web Credit Card Portal transactions
- Tracing payers based on supplied information, and backup available from Lockbox
- Posting payments once correct account is identified
- Processing monthly parking payments
- Daily reconciliation of lockbox bank deposits and/or postings from various payment streams based on teller reports
- Manage mail exceptions that were not able to post into system
- Review of different report, identifying appropriate notices where possible

**Open and Sort Mail**
- Daily opening and separation of mail by Branch and observing depositing requirements for each item
- Sorting mail to deliver to appropriate departments
- Manually posting cheque payments received

**Preparation of Bank Deposits**
- Add cheques & cash amounts and prepare daily bank deposits
- Ensure bank deposits reconcile to Teller Reports and investigate any discrepancies

**Entry level accounting tasks and/or special projects as assigned**

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in payment processing or a related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of payment processing systems and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using payment processing software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- At least 18 years of age
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Prior experience with accounts payable or accounting related field preferred.
