We are currently seeking a Temporary Material Handler - Receiving for our Morning and Afternoon shifts who can be nice, will seek inspiration from our roots, can commit to achieving results the right way and loves to think big to join us on our journey.

The Material Handler - Receiving for Roots will be responsible for the following:

- Off-load containers, sort and palletize goods.
- Repeatedly lifting boxes of up to 50lbs
- Record carton counts; validate actual receipt to packing slips to ensure accuracy of goods entering the Distribution Center.
- Verify vendor barcodes against purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct shipment inspections to verify size, quantity and break down is correct.
- Ensure that each completed delivery is labeled and delivered to a specified location and recorded as such.
- Assign, forward and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Ensure all inter office deliveries are sorted in a timely manner and delivered to the respective area.
- Ensure all inbound transfers are checked, listed and delivered to respective areas.
- Confirm all copies of packing slips and waybills are in logical order.
- Ensure the maintenance schedule and daily checks are performed on all material handling equipment.
- Other duties assigned by the Team Lead and Management.
- Completion of Secondary School Diploma.
- Overall understanding and experience working in a distribution center environment and with warehouse management systems.
- Experience and understanding of receipt handling.
- Excellent problem solving, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to produce results under pressure in a fast pace work environment using tact and camaraderie.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Exhibits autonomy and takes initiative with daily tasks while also being a team player.
- Compliance with work instructions and health and safety standards.

**Available Shifts**:

- Morning Shift (7:00am to 2:45pm)
- Afternoon Shift (3:15pm to 11:00pm)

**This role is eligible for**:

- An hourly wage of $19.38
- Afternoon shift premium of $0.50 *if applicable*
- Peak Season premium of $2.00 per hours worked effective October 30th
- Weekly pay (Friday)
- A generous employee discount
- Vacation pay (4% of salary annually) which is paid back to the employee
